Kayaking in the Moonlight

Flatwater Kayak / & Canoe: Join the Cascade Head Biosphere Collaborative for a paddle in the moonlight on the Salmon River. Bring your own kayak or canoe, Paddle, PFD, light, and your whistle or book a rental with Safari Town and have it all delivered to Knight Park as we set off for an 1 1/2 hour paddle in the moonlit (clouds permitting) estuary.  

Fee: $25 per person (Rentals are additional, paid directly to Safari Town)

 Basic requirements for those bringing their own gear and vessel:

  • Kayak/Canoe

  • Paddle

  • PFD (Personal Floatation Device)

  • Whistle (signaling device)

  • Light (Headlamp)

  • Non-cotton, Appropriate Apparel (Always dress for the water temperature which is cold.

  • Other Safety Equipment: Bilge Pump or Bailer, throw rope, float bags.

  • Waterway Access and Aquatic Invasive Species Permit (10' or longer boats)

Waterway Access and Aquatic Invasive Species Permit  - If your vessel is 10' of longer please make sure you have a current Waterway Access Permit from Oregon Department of Fish And Wildlife for your craft.  Click Here to learn more...
